If, as it is rumored, that Bob Dylan’s long-running Bootleg Series is finally winding down, Through the Open Window: The Bootleg Series, Vol. 18 1958-1963 provides a fitting conclusion, bringing the story back to where it all started: the years where Dylan was a folk singer, making his way from his hometown of Hibbing, Minnesota to Greenwich Village.

It’s a story that’s been told before, most recently in James Mangold’s biopic A Complete Unknown, which garnered Timothée Chalamet an Oscar nomination for playing Dylan earlier this year.
