To all of my subscribers, I offer a note of apology for not publishing a newsletter in the last ten days. As it happens, life got in the way.
Last Monday, my wife went in for a routine prenatal checkup on her lunch hour to ensure that everything was fine with our baby prior to labor. Everything seemed good, the baby passed the sonogram with flying colors and then, suddenly, the baby went into distress and the doctor decided my wife needed to have an emergency C-section. Within an hour of receiving the news, she gave birth to our daughter.
While she was distressed, my daughter wound up breathing in meconium. Because of this, she had inflamed lungs and was immediately put into the NICU, where she was attached to a Cpap machine and other devices. About a week later, she's subsisting on her mother’s milk and attempting to wean off a cannula that gives her a small amount of oxygen. We have no idea exactly when this will happen but with a little luck, it’ll be sometime this week.
So, this last week has been a challenge! But, we were lucky that my wife was in the right place at the right time and we are grateful that our daughter has the care she needs and will likely have no long term damage. We can’t wait to get her home.
Because of this emergency, I haven’t had the wherewithal to finalize any posts for my newsletter and will not have the energy to do it this week, either. I should be able to resume with weekly new release updates next Friday, then I’ll catch up with the music I missed in early February within the subsequent weeks.
Thanks for your patience, thanks for subscribing and, as always, thanks for reading.
Glad to hear your daughter is going to be OK. Family comes first, always. Sending best wishes (and congratulations!) to you and your family, Stephen! :c)
